You can find APPS in all kinds of places today:

- Retail stores

- Online stores

- Apple’s “APP Store”

- Google’s “Play Store”

- Microsoft’s “Store”

There are also a lot of applications that get bundled with your computer’s operating system.

Firmware

If you’re not “into” technology, you’ve probably never heard of firmware. Although technically it is software, almost no one even recognizes it as part of your computer. Consider this scenario: You are typing on your keyboard. When you press the “A” key, how does your computer recognize that you pressed “A?” Something in the keyboard needs to do the work of translating a key press into an electronic signal and then send that signal to your computer. Enter firmware. Many, dare we say most, hardware parts have some form of firmware. Somewhere, somebody needed to program the firmware that runs inside of your keyboard, mouse, hard drive, monitor, etc.
